Prep Class of 97:
Our Fellow Classmate Mike Hilgers was elected as speaker of the Nebraska State Legislature. Mike represents District 21 out of Lincoln.
This is a tremendous honor and accomplishment by a Prep alum.
Way to go Mike!
Hilgers elected speaker of the Legislature Sen. Mike Hilgers becomes just the third Lincoln lawmaker elected to lead the Legislature since the Unicameral system was adopted in 1937, and the first since the 1977-78 session.

In honor of the class of 2020, we are asking our alumni community to consider a gift of $20 or more to Prep in the month of June to help the current and future classes of Creighton Prep!
If we reach $200,000 or 20% participation from our alumni, we will send a $20 Amazon gift card to each member of the class of 2020 to help start their college careers. By doing so, you can help support the past and future of Creighton Prep.
Thank you for making Creighton Prep possible! We truly need your support and greatly appreciate all you are able to do during our June Alumni Drive. If you have any questions, please contact Max Huerter '09 at [email protected]
Class of 97:
On June 4, 2020, Creighton Prep administrators and the Board of Trustees received an email letter from Danny O’Bryne, class of 2006, and 70 other alumni asking to remove Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine, class of 1970, from the school’s Board of Trustees.
The intent of the letter exercises the foundation of the Jesuit values taught at Prep — developing Men for Others who demonstrate love and seek justice for the least of their neighbors. The school appreciates these alums embracing the Ignatian spirit learned at Prep by standing up for what they believe.
It is through this same Ignatian lens that the Board of Trustees has reviewed the petition and has unanimously decided to retain Don Kleine as a board member. Don has served the school’s Board of Trustees with distinction and dedication since 2016, and Creighton Prep has benefited from his leadership on the board and time spent speaking to students in countless classes and forums at the school over the years.
As the tragic events unfolded in Minnesota, across the nation, and in the Omaha community, Creighton Prep has been in communication with various audiences throughout the week. Students and parents, faculty and staff, alumni and friends, received messages voicing solidarity with people of color whose dignity continues to be violated by the sin of racism. Today, Creighton Prep students held a forum on racism, with more to follow, to continue to find new ways to work toward meaningful change.

Class of 97:
If any of you still have a love for the mid 90's music scene, we've got Violent Femmes, Soul Asylum and Matthew Sweet playing at Shadow Ridge this Friday.
I have a few remaining G/A tickets set aside so members of the Class of 97 can get them for 1/2 off this week. (max of 4 per request). Just email me at [email protected] and I'll hook you up.
I only have about 30 that I can part with at this amount so they are first-come first-serve.
Hope to see you there!
