Job description
Quality Refrigerated Services in Spencer, IA has immediate openings for Warehouse Workers:
Essential Functions:
•Load and unload freight using equipment in an efficient and safe manner
•Move product to storage areas and put away with proper equipment.
•Check or count freight for accuracy and/or damage and infestation
•Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking
•Operate equipment safely and efficiently (equipment to include, but not limited to stand up and sit down forklifts, and pallet jacks.
•Report all safety malfunctions on equipment
•Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work environment
•Follow attendance policy, show up for work on time and ready to work assigned shift
•Perform other duties as assigned, may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed.
•Must be able to lift heavy boxes up to 90 pounds when needed.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
•Requires ability to work independently
•May work overtime, evenings, or weekends in order to complete work, as directed and authorized by management
•Requires the ability to pay close attention to details and meet deadlines.
Tools and Technology :
•Pallet Jack, high lift, sit down or stand up lift truck
•Education Requirements: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred, or at least one-year related work experience.
•Experience is helpful but not necessary. Will train.

The Quality / HACCP Technician has to be flexible and able to adjusts work procedures/hours to meet testing schedules, production needs, and customer requests including all facility audits.
The employee must be able to apply mathematical skills to include and not be limited to addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Practical use of computer programs such as Microsoft Office, and inventory management programs may apply. Use reasoning obtained from their knowledge and training to perform their job and problem solve without direct supervision.
The Quality / HACCP Technician have the final responsibility for completing and/or verifying of the following tasks.
• In process product testing required by government agencies, customers, auditors, and /or facility requirements.
• Final product testing and/or outside lab preparation as required by government agencies, customers, auditors, and /or facility requirements.
• Completes daily of all CCP’s, SSOP’s, SOP’s, GMP’s, and any other applicable program monitoring. Verification will be a combination of records review and direct observation.

• The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The Fork Lift driver is responsible for staging and returning all products, packaging supplies and pallets from storage areas to processing areas.
Equipment:
•After required training general employees may be required to complete some or all of the following tasks daily or when needed; forklift/pallet jack, pallet invertors, wrappers, and Palletizers.
•Must be able to obtain company provided FL License
Physical Demands:

•While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, walk, reach, and may regularly lift and or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 70 pounds.

Remove any broken pallet pieces, straps or other contaminants on floor in path of forklift. Fill out required paperwork as assigned.

Various Administrative Tasks
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

·Coordinates and dispatches customers’ shipments.
·Communicates to and coordinates with various warehouse/processing departments, customers and carriers all pertinent information regarding shipments and receipts.
·Providing timely coverage of the telephone system along with other clerical duties.
· Responds to inquiries, processing orders and handling complaints in a prompt, courteous and effective manner.
·Ensuring that all shipping and receiving documents and functions are completed accurately and on time.
·Communicates with customers as required and, in conjunction with the Warehouse / Processing Manager(s), develops inbound and outbound freight schedules.
·Complete tasks assigned with Export such as but not limited to working with USDA, filling out certificates, traveling to local FSIS for signatures, and working under tight timelines.

The Maintenance Technician must be flexible and able to adjust work procedures/hours to meet production needs.
The Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
• Inspect and identify necessary repairs for processing equipment such as vacuum-packaging machines (Rollstock, Multivac, Ultravac flip-flop), mixers, grinders, patty machines, dicers, blockers, vat dumpers, strappers, labelers, scales, metal detectors, and conveyors. Equipment typical of a food production facility.
•Complete regular scheduled PMs of facility and processing equipment including replacement of parts (seals, bearings, O-rings, shafts, blades, etc.), oil and filter changes, equipment rebuilds and more.
•Respond to maintenance calls from the production floor, troubleshoot equipment and perform successful repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
• Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, general floor repair, repairing doors and other building fixtures.
•Perform other related duties as assigned.
