Underneath my text overlay, “No Al,” are canvases I painted from an Al reference photo back in
2023. *does obligatory performative penance*. Yeah, l
messed up. That was before I knew about the effects and non-consensual nature of this machine.

I don’t now, and I commit to not using Al in my art, courses, or content. For me, my art is made by hand. I’ve never really been a digital theylie. My art is always one of a kind, and only generated from the stores of my own creativity and imagination.

Here’s what I think about when I make a collage. Remember that collage can include anything!
Think textures, contrast, repetition, color scheme, balance, and tension. What else?

Fun fact: Did you know that Matisse “painted” with paper near the end of his life? He cut the shapes out in bed and had help arranging them the way he wanted.
