From Brother Knight Rob Barrett ...
I want to send my sincere appreciation to Tim Kiuntke, Larry Ziska, Dave Bohnenkamp, Mike Holmgren, Neil Leinenger and his 2 sons, Noah and James, Joe Parys and his 2 sons Solomon and Jeremiah, and Carl Cramer for all your help and participation in sorting aluminum cans this morning and into the afternoon. We REALLY cleared out a lot of cans today.
Our efforts resulted in bagging, transporting and redeeming 15 bags of nickel cans which yielded $180.00!! While transporting the bags, the sorting continued. Dave Bohnenkamp removed a pickup bed loaded with crushed cans to be redeemed for weight! Neil and his sons continued to sort with me until we left at 2 pm!
There are 7 additional bags ready for the next transport! That's another $84.00!! There are many more cans in flats and still many, many more cans to be sorted!! But we can actually walk into the shed! In all, this effort involved 24 hands which made the tedious work easier and was truly a success!! Perhaps in the near future
more KNIGHTS and SPN students will get involved and we will have more successes like today's!
