Meet Faith and Kelsey! Faith graduated from Omaha Street School in 2019. This year, she earned her CNA certification, secured a full-time job, and is moving into her own apartment while building a brighter future for her family.
Kelsey graduated this spring with both her high school diploma and CNA certification. Despite experiencing the heartbreaking loss of both of her parents, she persevered. Today, she is working as a CNA and pursuing her dream of becoming an anesthesiologist.
These stories are why Omaha Street School believes students need more than a diploma.
This spring, five of our seven graduates earned both their high school diploma and CNA certification. Several have already secured jobs and are building brighter futures for themselves and their families.
That's the power of vocational training.

🛠️ A Ramp. A Lesson. A Life Changed. This year, Omaha Street School Construction students built something special. 🪚
As part of a real-world service project, students designed and constructed a wheelchair ramp for a local man named Jim. Before the ramp, Jim had to navigate two difficult steps while someone carried his wheelchair. Now, thanks to the hard work of our students, he has greater independence, safety, and dignity.
The project involved much more than building. Students constructed the ramp in sections at school, transported it to Jim's home, cleared bushes and roots, connected it to the porch, installed railings, and completed the final finishing touches.
What makes this story even more meaningful is Jim's connection to construction and service.
Years ago, Jim was a construction student who went on to become a carpenter and superintendent. After being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, he eventually lost the ability to continue working. But before that, he spent years helping build wheelchair ramps and completing community service projects for others in need.
Now, the circle has come full circle.
The person who nominated Jim shared: "This wheelchair ramp means so much to Jim. It not only gives him mobility and a little independence, but it comes full circle back to somebody doing something for him."
We're incredibly proud of our students, teacher Mr. Hutchison, and everyone involved in this project. This is what education looks like when skills, service, and compassion come together.
❤️ Building ramps.
❤️ Building skills.
❤️ Building lives.

Over the past 4 Fridays, students from Omaha Street School spent afternoons serving residents at Royale Oaks Assisted Living through games, conversations, refreshments, nail painting, hand massages, and a fun Mother’s Day photo booth. 💙
Our students experienced the joy of serving others and building meaningful connections across generations.
We’re grateful for the opportunity - and excited to return again this fall for more “Give Back Fridays”! ❤️

Before they graduate… they leave their mark. 🎓 At Omaha Street School, one of our favorite senior traditions is painting ceiling tiles…each one a reflection of their story, their growth, and who they’re becoming.
What starts as a blank tile becomes something meaningful… bold colors, powerful messages, and creativity that speaks louder than words.
These tiles will hang in our halls as a reminder:
They were here.
They mattered.
And their story is still being written.
We’re so proud of our seniors. 💛
