This summer, Allondra Lillia got to experience Spain in a way that went beyond sightseeing.

Through Creighton’s FLPA program, she lived with Spanish families, tried home-cooked meals and explored cities including Toledo, Segovia and Tarifa. At the same time, she continued working at Lifetime Fitness and took four summer courses, learning how to balance work, school and a new experience abroad.

Now back at Creighton, Allondra is looking forward to another year of involvement across campus. Through organizations like Alpha Kappa Psi, Consulting Club, Entrepreneurship Club and New Student Orientation, she’s found friendships, mentors and opportunities to grow personally and professionally.

Her advice to students still figuring out where they fit: “I would recommend joining multiple organizations or clubs to figure out what fits into your schedule and what you value!”

For Jackson Langin BSBA‘25, his next step after Creighton was law school.

After earning his degree in economics and finance, Jackson went straight to the University of Iowa College of Law. He credits Creighton’s challenging yet practical curriculum, along with the faculty, staff, mentors and experiences that shaped his time as a student, with preparing him for that next chapter.

From studying business law and economics to participating in the BlueBox Project in the Dominican Republic, getting involved in Beta Theta Pi and serving as a tour guide, Jackson found opportunities to grow in and beyond the classroom.

Creighton has maintained a 99% average outcomes rate over the past 10 years, with graduates employed, continuing their education or engaged in service within six months of graduation.

Meet our newest Heider faculty member, Dr. Stephen Osowski! 👋

We’re excited to welcome Professor Osowski to the Heider College of Business faculty this fall.

A lifelong Catholic and product of Jesuit education, Dr. Osowski says he was drawn to Creighton because of the way values like Cura Personalis and being “for and with others” are lived out every day.

As an accounting professor and researcher, he’s especially interested in the human side of accounting—seeing accountants not simply as “numbers people,” but as trusted advisors who help organizations make thoughtful, effective decisions.

One lesson he hopes students take with them goes beyond the classroom: “Your grade is not a reflection on what kind of person you are.” For Dr. Osowski, being a good, ethical and genuine professional matters far more than a letter on a transcript.

And when he’s not teaching or researching? You might find him at bar trivia. During his PhD program, Dr. Osowski competed twice a week with a trivia league team that went on to win a state tournament championship! 🧠🏆

Four Creighton students spent this summer gaining hands-on experience through Iowa’s Insure Your Future internship program.

Weston Wise, a junior accounting & political science major, interned with the Iowa Insurance Division, where the experience introduced him to insurance as a career field he hadn’t previously considered. He’s now exploring opportunities in insurance, accounting, compliance and legal roles.

Taylor Tallman, a Creighton University College of Arts and Sciences student, interned with Wellmark, gaining experience in the insurance industry while building her professional network.

Max Young, a junior finance and marketing major, spent the summer at Holmes Murphy, while Joe Broderick, a junior studying finance, interned with The Mutual Group.

Through these internships, all four students gained professional experience, made connections and explored potential career paths across Iowa’s insurance industry.

We’re proud to see Bluejays putting their education into action and taking advantage of opportunities to explore what comes next.

For Luke Royster, finding his place at Creighton started with music. 🎶

Luke, a sophomore studying accounting and business intelligence & analytics, joined JayBeats A Ca****la after meeting members of the group at Skutt Shutdown. He immediately felt at home—and today, he serves as the group’s director.

Through JayBeats, Luke has built some of his closest friendships at Creighton and found a community that comes together every Sunday to do what they love: make music.

His advice to other students looking to get involved? Start somewhere, reach out and advocate for yourself.
