In a statement, the Nebraska Department of Economic Development noted, “Designation as an iHub signals that an organization has demonstrated experience with innovation programs, has an articulated management structure and plan, has assets and resources at its disposal to drive innovation, and has successfully engaged partners in pursuit of its strategic objectives.”

We are very proud of this JBY Foundation alumni and graduate. Over 7 years ago, Terrance Sheared, owner of Soco Cafe, called us with an idea to bring Creole-Delta infused southern cuisine to North Omaha. We were excited to see him serving customers at Native Omaha days this week, and even more excited for the next chapter of his business!

We have had the pleasure of watching this stoic entrepreneur build his idea from the ground up starting back in 2017. We are incredibly proud of Xavier Jackson, founder of The Local Art Plug, for winning the Midlands African Chamber, Inc. Pitch Black competition. Keep grinding and keep pushing. It’s an honor to call you one of our mentees and alumni!

So…. The Local Art Plug and Xavier Jackson did a thing yesterday…. They won both Pitch Black Champion 2023 and the award at the Midlands African Chamber, Inc. Pitch Black finale and business expo! They take home $15000 in equity free funding along with up to a combined value of $20000 of marketing, accounting and legal assistance, a scholarship from MCC, business coaching services and coworking space privileges. Congratulations on winning a hard fought Pitch Black Competition 2023❤️👏🏾🙏🏽

Congratulations to Leah Whitney Chavez on the grand opening of her new headquarters for World Speaks. This day was long overdue, and well deserved. Leah is one of the first graduates and alumni of our entrepreneurship cohorts back in 2014. She has certainly come a long way and has much further to go. a SIFE alumnus of Enactus USA, Julian went on to become president of his college’s team and had the opportunity to be exposed to other successful executive CEOs, business owners, people that had started and grown successful multimillion, billion-dollar businesses.

Enactus helped turn his life around and provide the support to nurture his entrepreneurial spirit. Now he and his wife have a successful foundation that supports budding entrepreneurs and also provides advocacy for minority-owned businesses.
