On May 03, OEA held it's annual Laurel's Night where we honored retiring teachers, 25-year teachers, and award recipients.

Here are some upcoming events to add to your calendar for April (more info updated from our previous post as the EMAC meeting was originally scheduled for March 28th)! We will share info for May events in the next few weeks.

❗️Due to vouchers being pulled from the budget, we no longer need to lobby in Lincoln today. Please continue to contact your senators.❗️

📢 Good news to share!

The Chair of the Appropriations Committee has indicated that the $3.5 million for vouchers is no longer included in the state budget bill—for now.

We’ll continue watching closely as the bill is debated on Select File tomorrow.

Thank you for speaking up and standing strong for Nebraska public school students—your voice made a difference!

Our next OEA happy hour is Friday, February 13th from 3:00-6:00pm at DJ’s Dugout located at 777 N 114th Street Omaha, NE 68154. OEA members, please bring anyone who is a potential member!

Have questions about OEA, contract ratification, or elections? Join us for Brew with the Board on Saturday, February 14th from 9:00-11:00am at OEA.

Thinking about retirement? The Croker Group will be hosting a retirement seminar on Tuesday, February 17th from 5:30-7:00pm.

Our first Ethnic Minority Advisory Council (EMAC) Community Cook-Off is Thursday, February 26th starting at 5:00pm. Bring a plate close to home to share or come with an empty stomach!
