Tanyel’s commitment to families, community, and the mission of the Learning Community has been evident through her work and the relationships she continues to build.
In her new role, Tanyel will lead efforts to strengthen family engagement, cultivate meaningful community partnerships, and ensure families feel informed, valued, connected, and empowered throughout their children’s educational journey.
She will also provide leadership and support to our Family Engagement team, helping foster collaboration, build leadership capacity, and create opportunities for continued growth.
We are excited for Tanyel as she steps into this new chapter of leadership and look forward to the impact she will continue to make for children and families across our community.

Being a parent is one of the most important roles anyone can have. At both Learning Community Centers, parents have access to parenting classes designed to build confidence, strengthen relationships with their children, and navigate the challenges of raising a family.

Classes include Circle of Security, Love and Logic, and more, all designed to give parents practical tools they can use at home every day.

At the Learning Community Center of North Omaha and the Learning Community Center of South Omaha, we believe that when parents grow, children grow too.

At the Learning Community Center of South Omaha, children of all ages learn right alongside their parents.

Our early childhood program serves children from birth to age five year-round, with a focused emphasis on building the cognitive and emotional foundations children need to walk into Kindergarten ready to thrive. When staff or families identify developmental concerns early, children are connected to intervention services before they enter the public school system.

Programming is available morning, afternoon, and evening year-round, welcoming families at every stage.

Every family in the parent education program at the Learning Community Center of North Omaha and the Learning Community Center of South Omaha is paired with an Educational Navigator.

Navigators meet families where they are. They help parents set short and long-term goals, check in monthly, connect families to community resources, and make sure no one falls through the cracks. They conduct home visits, help parents enroll in classes, and provide support between sessions.

It is one-on-one investment in a family. And it is one of the things that makes the 2-Gen model work.

Three years ago, Anabel walked into the Learning Community Center of South Omaha. At this year's graduation she stood at the front of the room and said what she felt.

"I never imagined there would be a place like this. I never imagined finding such a beautiful learning center."

She thanked the front desk staff who greeted her with a smile every morning, the child learning providers who cared for her children while she was in class, and every person along the way who made her feel welcome. Three years later she crossed the stage as a graduate.

That is what this community is built for.

Love Grows Here. This Saturday, the Learning Community Center of North Omaha is proud to host the Omaha Better Birth Project's Community Baby Shower, a free event celebrating and supporting new families in our community.

Join us August 8 from 1:00 to 3:30 pm at 1612 N 24th Street in Omaha. All are welcome.

The Learning Community Center of South Omaha was glad to be one of the sponsors of the South Omaha Community Care Council's Mochilas y Sueños, Backpacks and Dreams event at the South Omaha Boys and Girls Club. Seeing so many community partners come together to help children start the school year with confidence.

We were also glad to connect with Mayor John W. Ewing Jr., who showed up alongside so many dedicated volunteers and supporters to make the day a success.

Last week, the Learning Community Center of South Omaha hosted a free youth soccer clinic with at Collins Field.

Families came out, kids got on the field, and Union Omaha brought real energy to our community. They also donated 30 tickets to one of their recent home games, giving our families a night to remember.
