Community has been an important part of Olivia Austin’s professional education.
A pharmacy student in Creighton’s 2-4 Doctor of Pharmacy pathway, her friendships have carried from undergraduate years into pharmacy school, creating a close-knit network of peers who study together, celebrate milestones and support one another through the demands of professional school.
Olivia and her friends have attended each other’s graduations and white coat ceremonies, celebrated one another’s accomplishments and even visited each other’s hometowns. "I believe there is something special in sharing where you grew up or where came from with the people you love,” she says.
Those relationships have transformed a difficult transition from Massachusetts to the Midwest into a sense of belonging and given her two places to call home. “I know that because of Creighton, I have found my friends for life.”
