On Tuesday I had the opportunity to share a talk I've been working on for the past couple of months: Choosing You: The Surprising Gifts of Midlife.
As I worked through the drafts, I kept coming back to all the conversations I've had with women over the past few years and the things they're struggling with, the questions they're beginning to ask, and the deeper understanding they're gaining in this season of life.
In many ways, this talk became a way of pulling together the heart of so much of the work I do.
Afterward I heard over and over, some version of... "Oh my gosh, you were talking about me!"
Another comment that stayed with me was... "This isn't really about personal development. It's about understanding who we are."
YES. 100% yes!
It reminded me of how many of us are navigating the same questions, often without realizing how universal they really are.
I'm grateful I had the opportunity to share this with a room of 40 women. And based on the response, I know this is a conversation I want to keep having.
I'm already looking at offering 'Choosing You' virtually, so if this sounds like a conversation you might need, stay tuned!
