Visual Saptial students had the opportunity to be biomedical engineers today and create a prosthetic body part for an animal in need using 3D pens. Patient 1 was a Mallard duck 🦆 loooking for a new beak, patient 2 was a beaver 🦫 looking for a new paw, patient 3 was an elephant 🐘 looking for a new foot, and patient 4 was a penguin 🐧 looking for a new leg. Hitchcock students blew me away today with their creativity!

This week, Bree kicked off our Genius Hour Projects with “Kindness is Power.” Her goal was to promote random acts of kindness in the classroom. She planned, created, and has done an amazing job making kindness a priority at Hitchcock! We are so proud of you Bree! ❤️

Our 4th and 5th grade HAL students had the best time competing in Science Olympiad at Gifford Farm today! Congratulations to our 2 third place winners, Henry and Cora! 🥉🌟

Check out our first ever Tiger Paw News Report. Our 5th grade reading HAL students did a tremendous job researching ideas, creating their scripts, and editing their own video segments. Their video was the perfect way to kick off STEM day yesterday!🤩🤩

On Friday, Hitchcock HAL students celebrated engineering week by exploring zip lines with students from UNL. They went through the Engineering Design Process to define a problem, brainstorm solutions, and create a plan of action. They worked collaboratively to build their own zip line and continue to improve their own design. 📝🕵🏼

Congrats to these 4 mathematicians for receiving their first PERFECT score on our Math Olympiad Challenge this month! We are so proud of you! 🥳
So lucky to have worked beside Mrs. Po***ck for several years in 2nd grade and again starting in December! She brings so much positivity and leadership to Hitchcock!
