KNOWLEDGE from a book and KNOWLEDGE from your experience are two entirely different things. KNOWLEDGE from experience is from your SOUL.
KNOWLEDGE FROM A BOOK: As a teacher, the colleges “told” me what I needed to do to teach a child to read and all of the professional development re-taught by retelling me how to teach “that” child how to read!
KNOWLEDGE FROM THE SOUL: As a mom, who taught two of my born children to read, a boy and a girl, I can definitely testify from experience that this is where you will see the greatest impact of the seed you plant and a real harvest in abundance.
One became a medical doctor, finishing med school and delivering babies as young as 32 years old. And the other read as early as two years old and owns their own business. There was no such things as hooked on phonics at the time.
The SOUL KNOWLEDGE
Phonics is good, but this is Godly…
1. They must see you practice what you preach: Read daily and talk about what knowledge was provided from the reading.
2. Read as often as possible: Your children must witness seeing you experience joy while reading. Seeing a finished product from seeing you read the directions aloud while putting together their bed or their new favorite toy.
3. Most influential: a regular discipline has to be reading to them in the safest, most comforting space in their life (home in mommas arms, daddy’s lap, aunty’s couch, uncles car, grandmas bed, etc)
4. Less telling and more doing. They have to see these disciplines to believe it.
This one is from my soul and you did not have to pay for a college degree to get it, it’s free to you!
