Some of our 5th graders put their STEM skills to the test with a fun and challenging Straw Tower activity! Working together, students used creativity, critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving to design and build the tallest, most stable tower they could using straws.

There were plenty of twists, turns, and towers that didn’t quite stand as planned—but every challenge was an opportunity to learn, revise, and try again!

Way to go, 5th graders, for showing perseverance, teamwork, and innovative thinking!

Checkmate! Our fifth graders had a great time at their first Chess Club meeting! Students sharpened their skills, practiced strategies, and enjoyed some friendly competition. We’re looking forward to many more games and learning ahead!

It has been a wonderful start to the school year in music! 🎶 Students are exploring instruments, rhythm, and movement while working together to create a musical masterpiece! 🎵

What a fun visit! 📚✨ Author Justin Colón had our students and staff laughing while sharing his love of books, reading, and storytelling. Thank you, Mr. Colón, for bringing so much fun and excitement to Whitetail!

Today, students met with their Guardian Groups for the first time this year! These groups meet monthly and bring together students from different grade levels to build relationships, make new connections, and strengthen our Whitetail community.

For their first activity, students decorated individual feathers that will come together to create one giant Guardian wings mural! Each feather represents one of our amazing Guardians—and together, they remind us just how high we can soar!

Our first graders are becoming amazing writers! ✏️📚 They’ve been working hard on writing complete sentences using capital letters, finger spaces, and punctuation. Even Magic C Bunny made an appearance to help our young writers practice forming their letters correctly! 🐰
