PNCFL is grateful to Why Learn Languages for this impressive opportunity! Learn more about Why Learn Languages on their website: https://www.whylearnlanguages.org/

Application: To allow WLL enough time to complete the group registration, the deadline to submit the WLL Registration Sponsorship Form is September 15, 2026. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScCl9bUprOjOhfMM72tfdXXKFYm01JRaugzBUPGpfhZd1C0lg/viewform?pli=1

As a proud PNCFL Friend of Languages Award winner, Why Learn Languages can support up to three (3) high school juniors or seniors from each state to attend the JNCL-NCLIS Student Advocacy Academy. https://www.languagepolicy.org/studentadvocacyacademy

Ideally, they would like to select students from three different schools in each state, or, if they are from the same school, students representing three different languages. This would allow them to advocate for as many students, schools, and language programs as possible.

Spots will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis while also considering representation across schools and languages. If students from a state are unable to attend this year, WLL can place them on a waiting list or give them priority consideration for next year or for other WLL opportunities.

Please complete the WLL Registration Sponsorship Form with the information required by the event organizer, JNCL-NCLIS. WLL will complete the group registration and cover the registration fee for you. The JNCL-NCLIS registration deadline is September 18, 2026. To allow WLL enough time to complete the group registration, the deadline to submit the WLL Registration Sponsorship Form is September 15, 2026.

Action Alert: Tell Your Representative to Vote No on Amendment That Would Eliminate Fulbright Program Funding
https://www.votervoice.net/EXCHANGE/campaigns/138225/respond

The Fulbright Program is the flagship U.S. government-sponsored international exchange program. For 80 years, Fulbright has stood as a cornerstone of American global engagement and has provided nearly 450,000 students, scholars, scientists, professionals, teachers, and artists with life-changing opportunities to study, conduct research, and teach in over 160 countries and territories around the world.

An amendment that would, if adopted, eliminate funding for the Fulbright Program will go to a vote on the House floor as early as June 25. We need your help to ensure that this amendment is soundly defeated. Contact your Representative right now and urge them to vote no on Amendment 1 to HR 8595 ( #110 (Boebert) Eliminates funding for the Fulbright Program).

This amendment was introduced last week by Representative Lauren Boebert (R-CO, 4) and approved by the House Rules Committee yesterday to proceed to a floor vote. It's important to note that the Fulbright Program has incredibly strong support in Congress, and this amendment is unlikely to gain traction among House Members or to be adopted. That said, we still need to make our voices heard and show Congress just how important the Fulbright Program is to the American people.
