🍎 NOW HIRING: PART-TIME COOK 🍎
Whispering Willows Academy is looking for a dependable, organized, and hardworking Part-Time Cook to join our team!
We currently serve 100+ children each day and are licensed for up to 167 children, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen, can manage multiple tasks, and takes pride in preparing nutritious meals for children.
💰 Pay: $18.00/hour
⏰ Schedule: 25–30 hours per week
📅 Monday–Friday
Responsibilities Include:
🥞 Preparing breakfast, lunch, and two daily snacks
🥕 Following USDA/CACFP meal requirements
📝 Completing required meal and CACFP documentation
🧼 Maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen
📦 Monitoring inventory and communicating ordering needs
🥗 Accommodating food allergies and dietary restrictions
🍽️ Assisting with menu planning and food ordering
🤝 Working closely with administration and classroom staff
Requirements:
• Valid Washington State Food Worker Card
• Ability to pass a DCYF background check and fingerprinting requirements
• CPR/First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogens certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Strong food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and remain on your feet for extended periods
Experience preparing meals for large groups is strongly preferred. Experience with CACFP, childcare, schools, commercial kitchens, or institutional food service is a plus!
