As we launch the final week of our Irish experience, we are doing all kinds of things! Yesterday we sampled water quality in the tidal zone next to the beach. Among the findings was the fact that the water, at 60% oxygen, should have been at 90%. The algae bloom nearby was troublesome!

Visiting the Silver Strand (Trá Bán) and Bun Glas at Sliabh Liag yesterday was an experience of being in very heavy icy wind! Many of us brought windbreakers but were still cold.

We were in Muckross yesterday with Nicola Garvey; today we did a botany walk with Elena Pollina. The landscape and plants are so beautiful.

We visited the Studio Donegal factory and shop today in Kilcar, about fifteen minutes away. We had the chance to see the big industrial loom and the hand loom, and to examine some of the gorgeous pieces they’ve produced.
