This week, our time together was centered around love. Love for ourselves, love for others, and the ways we care for the world and people around us.

We talked about acceptance, practiced being part of a kind and supportive community, and held space for hope in small, meaningful ways. Through stories, play, and time in nature, the children explored what it means to belong, to be seen, and to care.

These are the roots we return to again and again; love, connection, and the quiet belief that each child has something beautiful to offer the world.

Nature holds the perfect tools for growth. We partner with the living Earth to support the whole child, body, heart, and spirit - through daily immersion in the natural world. It’s so much more than academics:

Emotional growth:
Building empathy, self-regulation, and emotional literacy through connection with the living Earth and their peers.

Confidence:
Developing both physical skill and self-belief by overcoming challenges and making independent risk-assessments. Confidence grows as children play in all types of weather and uneven terrain.

Sensory integration:
Supporting brain development through full-body movement, diverse natural textures and stimuli, and dynamic environments.

Resilience:
Strengthening the child’s inner foundation to adapt, connect, and thrive in the world around them.

Social development:
Fostering collaboration, communication, and care through group problem-solving, shared discoveries, and unstructured play.

Intellectual growth:
Igniting curiosity, observation, and critical thinking through real-world questions, seasonal cycles, and nature’s patterns.
“I wonder, I notice, I learn by doing.”

As parents, we want our children to feel safe, inspired, and truly alive in their learning environment. 🌿💚 At Wild Beginnings, that’s exactly what happens! Don’t just take our word for it, here’s what other families have to say:
✨ ‘My child has never come home happier or dirtier—and I love it!’ - Monica, Duna’s Mom
✨ ‘This camp gave my kid the confidence to explore, climb, and trust their own instincts.’
✨ ‘We saw such a transformation after just one week—more confidence, more curiosity, and more joy!’ - Jenn, Madison’s Mom

This is more than just a camp. It’s a place where children truly come alive. 🌱

Wild Beginnings Summer Camp is now enrolling in West Olympia.

This all-outdoor, nature-immersive program invites children from preschool through 5th grade to spend their summer days exploring the forest, crafting with natural materials, singing songs, hearing stories, and building a deep sense of connection with the land and each other.

Each week offers a unique seasonal theme: • Moon & Stars (June 30–July 3)
• Tree Week (July 7–10)
• Mushroom Week (July 14–17)
• Butterfly & Bee Week (July 21–24)
• Flower Week (July 28–31)
• Insects & Spiders (August 4–7)
• Woodland & Sea Creatures (August 11–14)

Camp runs Monday–Thursday from 9am–2pm. Families may register for one or multiple weeks. Tuition is $275/week and includes a wholesome snack each day.

Our rhythm is simple, spacious, and deeply nourishing—offering time for creativity, quiet moments under the trees, collaborative play, and joyful exploration.

Enrollment is limited to just 20 children per week to maintain a peaceful, connected atmosphere. A few spots remain for most weeks.

What if summer didn’t mean screens, stress, and rushing from one activity to the next?

What if it looked like muddy hands, fairy houses in the woods, and long sun-soaked days of play?

At Wild Beginnings, we hold space for children to be fully themselves — outside, every day, in rhythm with the Earth.

Our nature-based summer camp invites your child to climb, create, wonder, and belong. With a daily rhythm focused on play and gentle exploration of the weekly themes, this is more than a camp — it’s a place to come home to themselves.

Please consider sharing with a friend that is looking for a holistic childhood camp experience.

Spots are limited and are filling quickly.

Bread baking is a central feature of our parent-tot curriculum. Our little bakers are building language skills as we sing and talk about the process, a sense of self-efficacy (I can do this myself!), and fine-motor skills as they knead and shape their buns. Is there anything better than the smell of freshly baked bread
