All Parents, guardians and staff members are welcome to become members of HCC. The goals of HCC are to:
• Expand parental and community involvement.
• Improve student learning through social, academic and artistic activities.
• Improve the work environment for school staff.
• Improve communications between school and community.
• Provide financial support for school programs and activities

‼️NEW THIS SUMMER‼️
South Sound Reading Foundation has partnered with the Thurston County Food Bank as a free meal site. Each afternoon, youth 0-18 years old can come to our office for a free lunch provide by the food bank and free books (provided by us of course 😊)
REGISTRATION IS NOT REQUIRED! Just show up, grab a lunch and a book and enjoy a story time or activity. Lunch is served until 11:20am, free books/activities until noon.

Get ready for one of the biggest community events of the year on Friday, June 5 from 5-8 PM at Julia Butler Hansen Elementary! This year’s carnival is PACKED with amazing community organizations, activities, games, prizes, food, entertainment, and for the FIRST TIME EVER… TWO FOAM CANNONS! 🫧💦
Bring:
✔️ A towel
✔️ Clothes you don’t mind getting covered in bubbles
✔️ A change of clothes for after the foam fun
Most activities at the carnival are FREE! Food and our silent auction are the only things that require money. We are working hard to make this event accessible and fun for all families in our community. ❤️

Come ride bikes!
McLane Black Lake FD is having our annual Bicycle Rodeo at McLane Elementary THIS SATURDAY May 30 from 11-1 pm. Bring your bike 🚲 and bike helmet. Your firefighters will be available for rider safety, helmet sizing, bike safety and skills course. We will have Fire department goodies along with water and snacks!
