📣 Hansen families — mark your calendars for October 13th!

Our Hansen Community Council meeting will be held from 5:30–7:00 PM.

As part of our meeting, we’ll have OSD 4 ALL joining us to provide information and answer questions about the proposed school closures and what they could mean for Hansen as a potential receiving school.

With the possibility of Hansen welcoming a significant number of additional students, we know families may have questions about what that could look like for our school, including classrooms, staffing, programs, resources, and our students.

This will be an opportunity to learn more, ask questions, and better understand the proposed changes and how receiving schools could be affected.

Apparently saving public schools is counterculture now. The radical fight. Well, Olympia...that's kind of our thing. And it is time to show up.

The first public hearings start tomorrow:
McKenny Elementary — Monday, 10/12 at 6pm
LP Brown Elementary — Thursday, 10/15 at 6pm
Madison Elementary — Monday, 10/19 at 6pm

You don’t need kids in OSD, or understand school funding, you certainly don’t need to give public comment, or even stay the whole time. Just come pack the gyms.

If you care about keeping Olympia weird, local, public, people-centered and a little suspicious of anyone telling us bigger and more “efficient” is always better....this is your fight too.

Let Olympia School District see what this community actually values. Show up, bring a friend, and a whole lot of energy. See you soon, Olympia!

🍂 Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day!

Tomorrow, Monday, October 12, we recognize and celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day!

Today and every day, we honor the rich cultures, histories, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous peoples, especially the Tribes and Native communities here in the Pacific Northwest.

🏫 School Reminder: Hansen Elementary will be OPEN tomorrow, and students will follow their regular school schedule.

The countdown is officially on for James and the Giant Peach!

Our Hansen students have been working SO hard, practicing, learning their parts, and getting ready to bring this story to life on stage. We are so excited for our families and community to see everything they’ve been working on!

🎭🍑 We’re So Excited for James and the Giant Peach! 🍑🎭

Our Hansen kiddos have been working so hard getting ready for James and the Giant Peach! Our students are practicing daily, learning their parts, building confidence, and most importantly, having so much fun with theater!

We are so excited to see all of their hard work come together on stage. 💚💛
