This is a reminder that our CHS Multicultural Night is happening today! We are excited to come together as a school community to celebrate the amazing cultures that help shape our school.
Free dinner will be served beginning at 5:30 PM in the Commons, and our student performances will begin at 6:45 PM in the PAC.
We would love for students, families, and staff to come out and celebrate with us as one big Cougar Family. Our students have worked incredibly hard to prepare performances that showcase culture, talent, and pride from around the world.
We hope to see you there for an evening of food, community, and celebration!

Seattle Branch ESU Awards Travel Scholarship to Capital High’s Kristina Cummins!
The Seattle Branch of the English-Speaking Union (esuus.org) is happy to announce the awarding of a “Page to Stage” travel grant to English and Theatre teacher Kristina Cummins of Capital High School in Olympia WA. The grant will support Ms. Cummins’ travel to England's Stratford-upon-Avon in July to experience a week-long program put on by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. Participants will hear from eminent scholars on topics including Shakespeare's
Life and Times, Shakespeare in Performance, The First Folio, and Music in Shakespeare&Theatre. They will also attend a performance of the Royal Shakespeare Company& A
Midsummer Night's Dream and The Cherry Orchard, the latter starring Sir Kenneth Branagh. The
faculty for Page to Stage include members from the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, the Globe Theatre, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Seattle Branch ESU notes how worthy a recipient Ms. Cummins is for this award. In addition to teaching classes in English and Theatre, Ms. Cummins also produces three mainstage shows a
year (comedy, drama, and musical) in addition to a student directed One-Act Festival. She has been a mainstay in the ESU's Annual National High School Shakespeare Competition, coaching
and sending students to the Competition held by the Seattle Branch (despite the obvious distance from Olympia). She is a member of the Educational Theatre Association and the
Washington State Thespian Board, where she is a Regional Thespian/Advocacy Chair. She is also Program Director of the Creative Theatre Experience.
Congratulations Mrs. Cummins!
