This is the final post from the front: after nearly a year of homelessness, Phoenix will be moving in to an apartment of her own on May 1st. She’s grateful for everyone who’s been there for her on this journey. Thanks for listening!

It won't be for much longer, but Phoenix is still living in her car while she waits for her apartment to become available. In this episode she talks about one of the most dehumanizing indignities that's part of the homeless experience in this cruel capitalist society.

Just before she was about to leave the hotel to go back to sleeping in her car, Phoenix's car was broken into again, and this time they broke a window, ripped out ashtrays and really trashed it. Repairs will be costly and take some time. The most demoralizing thing about Phoenix's homeless experience is her feeling that she's become invisible to people she thought cared, and she's never felt more alone in all her life.
