We’ve got locally adapted pepper starts available in the nursery. Lots of varieties, selected for their ability to thrive (even without a greenhouse) in our climate. It’s a great time to come to the farm and see our perennials in their habitat at the farm to get inspiration for what would look gorgeous in your garden. Come on out to the nursery this weekend. We will be open from 11-3 on Saturday and Sunday or by appointment. Link in bio for nursery list. 3947 113th ave se, olympia wa

Tips for selecting tomato plants. Just because they have flowers (or fruits!) doesn’t mean it’s a good choice. It’s important that tomatoes have strong vegetative growth to have more surface area to collect sunlight bring photosynthesis to give you an abundant crop. The same rings true for peppers.
The nursery will be open on Sunday from 11 to 3 and potentially on Monday afternoon. We have lots of heirloom tomatoes that we are bringing inside every night to make sure that they maintain good health and vigor because it hasn’t reached 50° at night yet. Are heirloom pepper varieties will come out in about a week. Please help us make some space for them by coming to get some tomatoes.

Learn about food forests with me on my farm on Sunday October 12 in this hands-on workshop. In a food forest , or forest garden, we create intentional ecological systems that are designed to mirror our native ecosystems but with useful plants to provide for human needs in our backyards. Plants are selected for their ecological functions as well which helps to decrease the work and maximize relationship. This class will discuss how to start a food forest and how to retrofit an existing orchard. We will also discuss soil building strategies, plant selection, creating guilds, pest and disease control, and much more! Link to website in bio. Work/trade available. I hope you can join us!
