Want to learn voice from someone who actually DOES this professionally?

Jenna writes, records, and produces her own music regularly—including songs that have been featured on Netflix shows and signed with major music libraries.

So when you study with Jenna, you’re not just learning how to sing. You’re learning from an active songwriter, recording artist, producer, and musician who knows what it takes to take a song from an idea all the way to a finished recording.

And YES—she teaches piano, too!

🔥 Jenna has a FEW spots open right now!
But they won’t last.

And this is her newest release—with SD playing horns on it!

Interested in voice or piano lessons with Jenna? Send us a message and grab one of her remaining spots!

Most of our teachers are currently on a waitlist—which is a pretty normal thing around here, and honestly, a wonderful problem to have! 😊

But we’re excited to announce that a few new openings have just become available for families looking for piano and voice lessons, especially those needing convenient after-school times!

Just got off the phone with a mom looking for violin lessons for her 6th grader, who was recently placed into orchestra with no previous experience.

It may feel overwhelming at first, but we’re here to help! With the right teacher, encouragement, and consistent practice, beginning students can make incredible progress in just a few months.

Mom also mentioned how surprised she was that our tuition is often significantly lower than other music programs in the area.

That’s intentional.

We believe excellent music education should be accessible—and affordable doesn’t mean ordinary! Our teachers are talented, passionate, committed, and genuinely care about helping students grow.

Whether your child is brand new, trying to catch up, or simply wants to discover the joy of music, we’ll meet them where they are and help them move forward.

Start where you are. We’ll help you grow from there.

Music education belongs in every homeschool—and sometimes, it starts with a recorder.

As an Olympia-based learning community, one of the unique parts of our mission at The Tuned In Academy is serving homeschool families.

In fact, when we first started our organization, one of the reasons we did so was specifically to create more opportunities for homeschool students to receive serious, high-quality music education.

We know families choose homeschooling for all kinds of wonderful and deeply personal reasons, and we absolutely support that choice. But we also knew that for many homeschool families—here and around the country—finding accessible, consistent, and excellent music education could be a challenge.

We wanted to help fill that gap.

Of course, we absolutely love **all** of our students—our homeschoolers, our public-school students, and our adults who are long past their school years!

But one of the really cool things about the Olympia-area homeschool community is that there are organizations that help make enrichment opportunities like music education possible for homeschool families. We've been privileged to work with several of them, and through those partnerships we've met some wonderful families we might never have had the opportunity to meet otherwise.

And just yesterday, we welcomed a brand-new student who came in to learn...

the recorder.

Now, we know the recorder doesn't always get the respect it deserves. 😂

But here's the truth: the recorder can be a beautiful instrument. It's also an excellent first wind instrument. There is so much more to playing it well than simply learning which holes to cover.

Tone. Breath control. Vibrato. Dynamics. Phrasing. Expression.

Those things matter.

And when a student learns to create a beautiful, expressive sound on a recorder, they're building skills that can later transfer beautifully to instruments like the flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and others.

And this young man?

He gets it.

Right from the beginning, he was producing beautiful tones and listening carefully to what he was creating. But perhaps our favorite part came at the end of the lesson.

He walked out smiling.😊

And honestly, that's what we're hoping for.

Not just a student who learns an instrument.

Not just a student who learns to read music.

But a student who discovers that making music is something joyful, meaningful, and worth doing well.

So here's to homeschool families. Here's to new students. Here's to beautiful music in unexpected places.

And here's to hoping that little recorder player keeps smiling all week long.

That's what we're here for.

We are **super busy**, which of course is exactly the way we like it! 😊 We love being busy making music, teaching music, and helping others discover the joy of making music themselves!

We often get asked if we offer lessons on the weekends. Angelia is currently our only Tuned In Academy teacher teaching on weekends, and she is pretty busy too! However, she does have **one Saturday spot opening in October at 10:30 AM.** 🎶

But our sister school, **Music 1st**, has some great weekend availability with several excellent teachers—including **Shan, pictured here on the left!** If you're looking for **violin, viola, or piano**, Shan would love to work with you!

And then there’s Evyn, who you can see here in the picture—the tall guy in the middle playing guitar! 🎸 Evyn teaches cello and guitar and is just an all-around super cool guy. 😎 He’s always involved with our students, helping put together our little rock ensembles for our various themed celebrations. He absolutely loves working with students, and he currently has availability on both Saturdays and Sundays!

So if weekends work best for your family, **don't assume we're full!** We may have just the right teacher and time available for you.

🎵 **Send us a message and let's get you making music!**

🎶 WE HAVE AN AMAZING TEAM!🎶

Yesterday morning, all but one of our Tuned In Academy team — teachers and admin — came together for our annual team meeting, and it was honestly a GREAT time! ❤️ (That one was teaching).

We shared stories of student successes, celebrated growth, talked about our favorite experiences with students, and reflected on how privileged we are to serve such wonderful families.

And we talked about something really important:

**How can we make what we do even better?**

Because we don't just want our students to grow as musicians. We want them to grow in confidence, character, creativity, and joy.

We normally meet once a year because we respect everyone's busy schedules, but several teachers said today that they’d love to do this more often. So… **we're going to make that happen!** 🙌

We do these meetings because of **YOU**.

Because we care about your kids.
Because we care about your families.
Because what we do matters.

We are incredibly grateful for our amazing teachers, our admin team, and every family that trusts us with their musical journey.

**We have an amazing team — and we’re just getting started!** 🎶❤️

🎹 Sometimes, you just have to do something for YOU.

That’s what we’re celebrating at Tuned In Academy this week!

We just welcomed **two brand-new adult piano students**—both busy professionals, both with families, and both at a point where they decided:

**“I want to learn music. I want to play piano. I want to do something I’ve always wanted to do.”** 🎶

They each had a fantastic first lesson, and they’re already excited about the journey ahead.

And honestly? **We’re just as excited to have them!**

Because music isn’t only for kids.

It’s not only for people who started when they were five.

It’s not something you “missed your chance” to learn.

**It’s for YOU.**

It’s for the busy parent who finally wants to make time for something they love.

It’s for the professional who spends all day taking care of everyone else and wants something that belongs just to them.

It’s for the person who has always dreamed of sitting down at a piano and actually knowing what to do.

And this week, we’re welcoming another adult student—a bartender who absolutely LOVES listening to music while they work and has decided…

**“Now I want to learn how to PLAY it!”** 🎹🔥

We LOVE that.

Because there’s something incredibly powerful about going from *“I love music”* to **“I can make music.”**

So if you’ve been waiting for the right time…

If there’s an instrument you’ve always wanted to learn…

If you’re an adult who keeps saying, *“Someday, I’m going to take lessons…”*

**Maybe someday is now.** ❤️

🎶 **It’s never too late to start your musical journey.**

**What would YOU love to learn?**

09/11/2026

🎹 **Sometimes the greatest victory in music isn't playing the right notes. It's learning to love the journey.** ❤️

At **The Tuned In Academy**, we get to witness some pretty amazing transformations.

A child who once dreaded lessons begins looking forward to them.

A student who was hesitant and quiet starts becoming more confident.

A child who struggled with something begins to realize, *“Wait… I can actually do this!”*

And sometimes, the most meaningful feedback we receive isn't about how well a student played.

It's simply that they had **fun**.

That they wanted to keep going.

That they left their lesson happier than when they arrived.

Because music lessons aren't just about learning piano, guitar, voice, drums, violin, or another instrument. They're about learning perseverance, building confidence, discovering creativity, and experiencing the incredible feeling of working hard at something and seeing yourself improve.

We don't expect every child to become a professional musician.

We simply want to help every student discover what they're capable of—and hopefully discover along the way that **making music is something they genuinely enjoy.** 🎶

If you've been thinking about music lessons for your child, don't wait until you know whether they'll “stick with it.”

Give them the opportunity to discover it.

**The right teacher, the right environment, and a little encouragement can sometimes change a child's entire experience with music.**

🎵 **That's what we're passionate about at The Tuned In Academy.**
