Olympic weightlifting is popular, after all it is the only form of gym exercises seen in the olympics (duh). Surely that gives it some credibility, but why do it if the goal isnāt intense competition?
It has significant mobility demands.
It has a high risk for injury as a result.
It doesnāt carry over well to other forms of fitness.
It doesnāt make you look better.
It wonāt make you feel better.
Sure, it can be fun and if thatās the only goal, then valid.

Eversion Sprain?
Ankle sprains are almost always inversion related when someone ārollsā their ankle.
Eversion sprains are a thing too, but we hardly ever see them.
Itās probably due to most people having a tendency to supinate their foot as their default position, leaning into the outside of it and not utilizing the big toe and arch enough.
Nonetheless, injury occurs when demands exceed capacity and this is a brutal example of ego lifting gone wrong. ā ļø
Inversion Sprain,
Most inversion sprains occur from running, sports or simply a misstep.
Injury occurs when demands exceed capacity, demands being force applied on tissue.
Running creates force, your body weight on your ankle when you misstep always creates force.
A 300lb+ ankle sprain? Thatās a lot of forceā¦š¤
Experience or Education?
Some people think academics is the path to understanding, some people think learning comes fro doing.
Context definitely matters and for different skills it probably skews accordingly.
For fitness would you rather take advice from someone whoās done it before or from someone whoās read about it?

A good rule of thumb for picking snacks is avoid products that have ingredients you canāt pronounce or use in your kitchen at home.
These additives wreak havoc on our digestion, negatively impacting insulin sensitivity, how much of your food your digestion, amongst so many other things.
Your gut has as more nerves than our spinal cord, your āgut feelingā is a thing for a reason.
Can you imagine what ingredients need to be in these Oreos for them to have this effect?
Sprinting,
While thereās no formal studies, surveys suggest that upwards of 90% of people over the age of 30 never sprint again in their lives, and thatās right around when we start seeing movement decline in people who donāt workout routinely.
It makes sense if you think about it, if you canāt move quickly then your capacity to move in general is diminished; sprinting trains vital functions of the hip and foot in extension, so that facia and musculature is trained and maintained through running.
