OCC Associate Professor of Speech and Communication Jessica McDonald was one of just 14 educators from across the United States selected to participate in the Alan Cornell U.S. Campus Faculty Seminar at Yad Vashem, Israel’s World Holocaust Remembrance Center.

During the 10-day seminar, Jessica joined educators from diverse academic backgrounds to explore Holocaust history, testimony, memory and education.

She returned to OCC with new knowledge, teaching strategies and resources she plans to share with students and the community.

Jessica's experience will also help shape a new IECC course, Communication During the Holocaust, coming in Summer 2027.

Olney Central College welcomed 150 high school seniors and 130 eighth graders to campus today for our annual Blue Preview! Students had an opportunity to connect with faculty, explore our academic programs and learn more about student life at OCC! Thank you to everyone who helped make this day a success!

Students, faculty and staff, join the conversation at the OCC Bring Your Own Book Club. There are no assigned books, just a chance to share what you’re reading, discover something new and connect with fellow readers.
