The start of the 2025-26 school year marks our fifth straight year of record-breaking growth for ASPIRE PreK.
We’re now partnering with 98 family child care programs across 18 counties, supporting more than 500 state-funded PreK seats. That means hundreds of children across Maryland are getting a strong start in school—and doing so in the warm, home-based settings that family child care offers.
When we started this journey, many doubted whether family child care could play a meaningful role in state PreK expansion. Five years later, the results speak for themselves. Our educators are proving every day that quality, equity, and community go hand in hand.
