After much research about the upcoming solar eclipse and information provided by the Kentucky Center for School Safety, there will be no school in Carter County on Monday, August 21, 2017.

We would like to remind our community of the danger of a solar eclipse. The sun will be dim enough to prevent the pupils in our eyes from constricting. Looking at the sun without reflexive squinting or pupil constriction can lead to partial but permanent vision and eye damage.
