Mrs. Jessica recently joined us to manage the kitchen, keep our students and faculty well-fed, and help support our teaching staff by giving them much needed breaks.

We sat down with Mrs. Jessica to get to know her better and here is what she shared:

๐…๐š๐ฏ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ž ๐๐š๐ซ๐ญ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐‚๐จ๐จ๐ค๐ข๐ง๐ : "I love how a meal brings people together." ๐Ÿฅฐ

๐€๐‚๐€'๐ฌ ๐…๐š๐ฏ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ž ๐ƒ๐ข๐ฌ๐ก: "I would say that they really enjoy the chicken crescent rolls. I was very surprised that the students at ACA are not picky, they are GREAT eaters!"

๐…๐š๐ฏ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ž ๐‚๐ฅ๐š๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ซ๐จ๐จ๐ฆ ๐ญ๐จ ๐‚๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ: "The students in the toddler room really light up when I walk in which makes me so happy. I like to visit every class, but the infants and toddlers are my favorites!"

๐…๐š๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐‹๐ข๐Ÿ๐ž ๐Ž๐ฎ๐ญ๐ฌ๐ข๐๐ž ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐–๐จ๐ซ๐ค: Mrs. Jessica is married, has two beautiful daughters who are 21 and 14, and two Great Danes. She says that her family is very important to her. When she's not serving the staff and families at ACA she likes to relax at home with her family, go to the movies, take weekend trips to explore new places, and she enjoys cooking and eating by the pool.

Our students can't get enough of this geometric puzzle set, and it is easy to see why. By arranging wooden shapes like hexagons, trapezoids, rhombuses, triangles, and squares onto a magnetic board, children bring vibrant designs to life using guide cards or from their own creativity!

We sat down with Mrs. Linda, our amazing 2s and early 3s teacher, to answer your most frequently asked questions about potty training! With 29 years of experience in early childhood development, she has seen it all and is sharing her top insights with us.

Is your child ready? Mrs. Linda looks for these clues:
- Pulling down their own clothes
- Going to the potty without being asked
- Staying dry for longer periods
- Showing interest at home (we always ask parents if they've introduced the potty yet!)

Mrs. Linda starts children on a 30-minute schedule to build comfort. Once they successfully use the potty consistently, she transitions to an hourly schedule.

๐˜”๐˜ณ๐˜ด. ๐˜“๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ๐˜ขโ€™๐˜ด ๐˜Ž๐˜ฐ๐˜ญ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ ๐˜™๐˜ถ๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ: Potty training routines are very important! Changing the routine can cause delays, so we ask parents to follow the exact same schedule at home to help children master independence.

The supplies that Mrs. Linda normally asks for are Pull-Ups with detachable sides. Then, as they start using the toilet more often, she will ask for 3-4 changes of clothes, underwear, and a change of shoes.

๐Ÿคญ๐€๐œ๐œ๐ข๐๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ ๐‡๐š๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ž๐ง:
Mrs. Linda handles accidents by first staying calm. She responds with a low-key approach, telling the child, "it's okay". "accidents happen", and "you can try again." She will then clean the area and the child.

๐ŸŽ‰ ๐‘๐ž๐ข๐ง๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ๐œ๐ž ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐๐จ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž:
Mrs. Linda always reinforces the positive. She will say, "Yay, you used the potty!" and then she will do a happy dance that makes them laugh. She uses stickers as a treat during the learning process.

Last week our older students focused on identifying the letters in their names. Our Pre-K class spent extra time practicing how to write their names โ€” a core skill that sets them up for success as they head into Kindergarten! ๐ŸŽ’

The learning didn't stop there...

This week, Pre-K students brought special items from home for a unique assignment. Sharing these items helped classmates learn more about who they are and celebrate their wonderful families! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ
