East Side High School, Olive Branch Mississippi

East Side High School, Olive Branch Mississippi East Side High school was established in 1958. Rev R.C. George was the principal. Twelve community schools made up East Side. East Side closed in 1970.

East Side was home to the Mighty Dragon, located at 9549 E. Pigeon Roost Road. The build is now home to Olive Branch Elementary School. Our colors were Black and Gold. In 1970 East Side merged with Olive Branch High to become the new Olive Branch High school. The mascot Conquistadar was chosen because it was neither black nor white. It was seen as a conqueror to overcome the racial segregation of the past.
