I am asking for your support for re-election to serve on the Tewksbury Township Board of Education. It is a contested election, with 5 candidates running for 3 seats. While I am the last line on the ballot, rest assured I always put our students first.
I feel that we should focus on our students and the education we provide in our K-8 district, and not become preoccupied in state or national-level debates about policies. We should spend our school budget on our students and teachers, not on lawyers.
I am pragmatic when it comes to the budget and the operations of the school. We need to eliminate services or programs that do not deliver for our students, while constantly looking for new opportunities.
I support our teachers and strive to ensure they have relevant professional development opportunities and essential resources for their students and their own personal growth. I have promoted expanding after school programs and sports to give our students opportunities to learn and grow outside of the classroom. I want to encourage kids to explore the arts and sciences.
Please know that vocabulary such as "age appropriate," "transparency," and "parents' rights" insinuate that the district is hiding the curriculum from parents. The entire curriculum, as well as every adopted policy, is easily accessible on the district website. Parents always have the option to opt out of curricula. They don't have the right to change the curriculum for other children or blanketly ban books that don’t fit their political, moral or religious beliefs. Rather than serve one party's interests, our goal should be to create an inclusive school community that celebrates differences and serves every student’s interests.
I am proud to receive endorsements from the Hunterdon Hills editorial board (below) as well as Districts for Democracy (https://www.districtsfordemocracy.com/hunterdon) with Suleyka Munoz and Andrew Fingerman.
Your vote truly matters in our small district and I urge you to make an informed decision. The Tewksbury PTA held a wonderful Meet the Candidates night, and the recording is available on their website (http://www.tewksburynjpta.com/meet-the-candidates-night.html).
Reach out if you have any questions about my platform or my experience on the Board, forward this on to your friends and neighbors, and be sure to vote on November 7th.

As was the case last year, again there is an unusually large number of candidates in the races for school board. Here are our picks in the contested races in
