SUPPORT we need to get the word out about the SUMMIT the during OLDSMAR DAYS & NIGHTS and to those who need this information.

SUPPORT we need for our Summit on July 18.
Let’s turn the lights on—together.

Florida, It’s Time to Turn the Lights On!
TO OUR UPPER TAMPA BAY COMMUNITY:
On March 2, 2020, OJV set out with one clear mission:
Evaluate “Jack’s Village.”
Find answers.
Fix the problems through evidence — not fix the blame through emotions.
That mission became the launch of OPERATION JACK’S VILLAGE.

After an exhaustive six‑year, 22,000‑hour research project, we have answered our charter questions and are ready to present our findings in the 2026 UPPER TAMPA BAY COMMUNITY SUMMIT — Turning the Lights On, on July 18, 2026.

Something set in motion in the late 20th century—small algorithmic shifts that compounded quietly over decades—has now left all of us in the 21st century struggling with how children navigate adolescence and how we support them along the way.

That same confluence of unfortunate circumstances now appears as predictable, measurable behavioral challenges—patterns that show up in children struggling, in children harming others, and in children losing hope.

At the Summit, we will present these root causes, the escalation, how it’s impacting everyone, and how each of us can do our part to fix it, bring stability back to you, to our adolescents, and to unlock the potential of our next generation.

As Dr. Mehra reminds us, “We have a moral and ethical responsibility to really look at innovative ways as to how we can change and address the crisis that we’re dealing with in terms of mental health.”
Why This Summit Matters — and What You’ll See When the Lights Come On

For Families: We are correcting the patterns that create unrealistic expectations and cycle of fear‑based reactions, so children can grow with confidence, clarity, and freedom from pressure.

For Educators and Youth‑Serving Professionals: We are correcting high‑burden, low‑fidelity algorithmic practices across structural, analog, and digital environments.

For Children’s Health Providers: We are correcting iatrogenic escalation—interventions that unintentionally increase distress or risk.

For Law Enforcement & First Responders: We are correcting reactive, crisis‑driven cycles that place responders in unsustainable roles.

For Decision‑Makers & Budget Holders: We are correcting misaligned investments in non–value‑added tools and models that lack developmental fit, quality assurance, fiscal responsibility, and measurable outcomes.

Children deserve environments that work.
Adults deserve systems that support them.
Our communities deserve clarity, stability, and hope.

Psychological Priming in Youth
Creating an Anxious Child

Psychological priming refers to the exposure to a stimulus that influences subsequent behavior, thoughts, or feelings. In youth, this priming can impact self-perception, motivation, and overall psychological health. The concepts of the "say something" burden and the positive psychology perspective of "my future is bright" provide contrasting frameworks for how youth can be affected.

"Say Something" campaigns

The "say something" burden emphasizes the pressure young individuals may feel to express themselves or contribute vocally in various settings, such as classrooms or social situations.

This burden can lead to:

Anxiety and Stress: Feeling compelled to speak up can create significant anxiety, especially for introverted or socially anxious youth. The fear of judgment or making mistakes can be overwhelming.

Self-Doubt: When youths feel they must always say something meaningful, it can lead to constant self-evaluation and doubt about their worth or ideas.

Negative Outcome Expectations: The pressure can shift focus from their thoughts and feelings to worrying about external validation, which can hinder their natural creativity and expression.
"My Future is Bright" Perspective

In contrast, the positive psychology approach of "my future is bright" focuses on optimism and potential. This perspective includes:

Encouragement and Motivation: By fostering an optimistic view of the future, youth are more likely to engage in goal-setting, resilience, and positive action.

Reduced Anxiety: This mindset alleviates the pressure to constantly perform since it encourages acceptance of setbacks as a part of growth, lessening the burden of immediate success.

Enhanced Self-Efficacy: Believing in a bright future can enhance youths' confidence in their abilities, leading to a more proactive approach to challenges.
Comparison and Implications

The key difference lies in the emotional and cognitive impact these perspectives have on youth. While the "say something" burden can heighten stress and lead to negative self-assessment, the "my future is bright" mindset cultivates hope, resilience, and an engaged approach to life.

Promoting positive psychology techniques may help counteract the detrimental effects of pressure to perform, encouraging a supportive environment where youth can express themselves freely without fear of judgment.

By understanding these contrasting influences, educators and caregivers can develop strategies that foster a supportive atmosphere, helping youth thrive both academically and personally. Would you like to explore more on this topic or discuss strategies for encouraging a positive mindset?
