Bullet resistance of a 9” H**pcrete wall (unfinished). Wondered how bullet proof H**pcrete is? Well we decided to test out a section of wall we constructed at an intro to h**p building workshop about a month ago.
The results for this test wall showed that H**pcrete (not fully cured) does not resist and deflect or absorb munitions from small hand gun all the way to a 3.08 rifle at approximately 50 ft away. Will repeat test every month for next few months to see if that changes as the material hardens further. Check out the bio if you’re interested in getting more involved in the h**p building space..

Shout out to Cody Ley from .earth . We first met Cody in Texas during our Tiny H**p Home Build and he joined us for one of our first natural building trainings hosted at Haven Village in Tennessee to learn plastering. Cody has been passionate about h**p for quite some time - and even tried growing his own! Being an entrepreneur and highly motivated, Cody asked if he could build his own modified version of River’s Tiny H**p home here at Haven Village with his support.

As part of the Trade School, we love supporting those motivated to innovate and promote the h**p space, so bringing Cody on as part of our H**p Build Team for the houses in the pipeline while working on his own projects seemed like a great fit. It was also a bonus that he loved animals, knew how to drive a tractor and wanted to help out on the farm! So in October of 2024 he showed up with his trailer just as we were breaking ground on our first build.

It was a great nine months and we accomplished a lot together! Cody was part of our first build from foundation to finish, worked alongside our build team, learned plastering and shared his love for h**p building with so many others that attended our trainings this past year…and finished his tiny home. It was a real rites of passage with us cheering him on to the end.

Here is a video to capture the end of that journey - a few days before the Tiny Home left for its new home. Cody’s a great example of the power of what we have created here at Haven Earth Trade School, and we wish him well on his journey and future success with his project back in Michigan.
