Week 2 of Mission Mondayâ„¢ was an active one at Oldenburg Academy, giving our students opportunities to learn beyond the traditional classroom and connect their education to the world around them.
Freshmen began introductory activities in their computer science course and explored the agriculture industry through a tour of GreenAcres.
Sophomores spent the morning in Batesville learning alongside the mayor, police chief, fire chief, and their teams. They explored careers in public service and learned how these departments are funded and serve our community.
Juniors began their day with Mass at Holy Family Church alongside the local community before working with Don Wettrick, founder of the STARTedUP Foundation, on developing a problem-solving mindset and understanding how entrepreneurial thinking can benefit them in virtually any career.
Across all three grade levels, students also continued exploring their faith through activities centered on this year's Franciscan Value: Dignity of the Human Person.
Seniors took the next big step in their Mission Mondayâ„¢ journey by beginning Day 1 of their internships; launching a year of immersive learning in potential career fields.
It was a Monday filled with faith, learning, service, exploration, and connection; exactly what Mission Mondayâ„¢ is designed to be.
