Defensive Handgun (Tier I) Class

This is the basic course for PRACTICAL handling and use of a handgun in defensive applications. Tier I is a one-day course introducing and practicing a philosophy requiring few techniques; easily understood and utilized to protect while stationary or moving. The advanced Tiers (II & III) expand on this philosophy and techniques to include more specific static and dynamic training along with a deeper sense of decision making.

Classroom- Safety review.
- Philosophy of defense.
- Incident aftermath and legal considerations.
- Static and movement shooting.
- Introduction to defensive techniques.
- Every Day Carry (EDC) / Home defense considerations.
- Effective Reactive Response: Holster to First Shot(s).
- Use of Red Dot Sight (If so Equipped)

RANGE
- Safety review.
- Live fire practice of reviewed techniques.
- Static and movement techniques.
- Reaction drills.
- Multiple threats.
- Students to bring a firearm, two hundred and fifty (250) rounds
of ammunition, sturdy hip holster along with your EDC holster
if different.
- Eye and hearing protection.
