Lectura “El camino de Amelia,” resumen en una manzana, retrato de “los caminos” estilo fluido + reportaje sobre trabajadores migrantes en los EE.UU. / niños en el campo y la educación, después escuchar la experiencia de uno de tus estudiantes trabajando en el campo con su padre = aprendizaje más allá del salón. Literatura para crecer, para abrir sus mentes y sus corazones; literatura para crear conciencia inculcando valores que mejoren nuestra sociedad.

After reading “Las huellas secretas” de Julia Álvarez, we spoke about legends, the morals that can be found in many of them, and how nature is such a powerful tool in art. The children re-created the forest where Guapa (the main character) had her first encounter with humans. They painted a beach, shared other stories and once again blew me away with their creativity, sensitivity and understanding. All at Tríadas Family Daycare Summer Program.

Después de leer “Las huellas secretas,” de Julia Álvarez, hablamos de leyendas, de la moraleja en ellas, y como la naturaleza es una herramienta poderosa en el arte. Los niños re-crearon el bosque donde Guapa (el personaje principal) se encontró por primera vez con los humanos. Pintaron una playa, compartieron otras historias, y nuevamente me sorprendieron con su creatividad, sensibilidad y entendimiento. Todo esto en el Programa de Verano en Tríadas Family Daycare. 🧚🏿‍♂️

It fell during the storm as we watched through the window. It fell and it hurt, landing in the middle of the street causing no damage, no harm. It just fell. Then, we shared our gratitude for the power of nature, for the wins and fails, for existence. We read The Giving Tree, made trees, created weather forecast videos, practiced vocabulary in context. Took a “field trip” to the front of the house, talked about the life of trees, climbed a small tree...Most importantly, we connected through exploring and built beautiful memories in the process. Se cayó durante la tormenta mientras observábamos por la ventana. Se cayó y nos dolió, quedando a mitad de la calle sin causar daños, ni lastimar a nadie. Después, nosotros compartimos nuestro agradecimiento por el poder de la naturaleza, por logros y las caídas, por la existencia. Leímos El Árbol Generoso, creamos árboles, hicimos vídeos del pronóstico del tiempo, practicamos vocabulario en contexto. Dimos “un paseo” frente a la casa, hablamos de la vida de los árboles, nos trepamos en un pequeño árbol...Lo más importante fue, la conexión que creamos al explorar, y las hermosas memorias en el proceso.
