Elementary Family Update

10/10/2026

A small group of third, fourth, and fifth graders visited Colby College Museum of Art this week. Students viewed artworks from various Maine artists and artworks inspired by Maine landscapes. This included several Wabanaki basketmakers and discussions on the Wabanaki basketmaking tradition. After exploring the gallery space, students got to make a collage inspired by the Museum's current exhibition entitled, "Imagining an Archipelago: Art From Cuba, Guam, The Philippines, Puerto Rico, and Their Disporas." Students even got to add a small piece of the actual exhibit artwork to their completed collages.

Miss O’Brien and Mrs. McCrea did an Apple Nacho Bar & c***r to fit in some apple learning/fun from their missed field trip. They are also learning about the pyramid pantry in CKLA and incorporated conversations about ways to add in nutritious foods daily & how to make healthy and fun treat choices! 🍏
