Dear LMS Families,

To improve student safety and reduce vehicle traffic in the school parking lot, Leonard Middle School will implement a new traffic pattern for morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. These changes will help separate buses, family vehicles, and students during our busiest times of the day.

Morning Drop-Off: 7:45–8:30 a.m.

Families using the Perkins Street entrance will proceed to the back of LMS and drop students off in the designated lane near the corner of the building.

Please maintain a continuous flow of traffic and do not park in the drop-off lane.

Families using Oak Street must drop students off at the lower end of Oak Street. Vehicles may not enter the school parking lot or traffic lanes from Oak Street.

Buses will unload students near the front of the building.

The section of LMS from the corner of the CAFETERIA to the END OF THE GYM will be off limits to any vehicle.

Afternoon Pick-Up:

Buses will load students in front of LMS.

Families may pick up students at one of two designated locations:

At the back of LMS using the Perkins Street entrance

At the lower-level pick-up area on Oak Street

Families should not park at the upper end of Oak Street. Keeping this area clear allows buses to enter and exit the school grounds safely.

Staff members will be stationed at each student boarding and pick-up location to supervise students, provide directions, and help ensure a safe and orderly dismissal.

We recognize that a change in routine may take some adjustment. We ask families to follow all posted signs, staff directions, and designated traffic routes. Your patience and cooperation will help us limit congestion in the parking lot and create a safer environment for all students.

Please review the attached traffic flow map before the start of school. Thank you for partnering with us to keep our students safe.

We’ve put 40+ pairs of soccer cleats out on our covered porch and invite local families to stop by, find a pair that fits, and take them home—completely free!

Feel free to stop by at your convenience, try on a few pairs, and take what your child can use. No appointments, no paperwork…just one less expense as you get ready for the season.

If you don’t find the right size this time, don’t worry! We have hundreds of pieces of sports equipment in our Used Sports Gear Program and are always adding new donations.

As always, if your family has sports equipment your children have outgrown, we’d love for you to consider passing it along so another local child can enjoy it.
