Greetings everyone,

I hope everyone got outside today on the lovely Cinco De Mayo. Just wanted to let everyone know that there will be no spring zoom credits. The reason is on account that I had very little response wanting to have them, only 8 people wanted to do it. The main reason is that since the Governor still has the State of Connecticut under "Emergency" that we still are not required to do the continuing education. I was led to believe by someone in the department of health that it was going to be over last summer. (I still can't believe it but it is what it is.)

The good news is that I plan on doing a hybrid (in person and zoom) at the end of September. I will be hosting it at a brewery and live streaming the credits for those who can't make it in person. (fingers crossed) I will let everyone know the date once I find out when parent's weekend is for my kids at college. (how did I get so old?)

I will update everyone when I get some information.

Greetings all,

Ok, looks like we are a go for May 2nd. This will be a 7 hour class. The first 5 hours are ABO and the last 2 are NCLE. It will be via Zoom. I have 3 other lectures this year. John Zimmerman from Zeiss Optical, the one and only Herbert G. Fletcher, your Transitions Ambassador, myself (your favorite speaker of all time), and newly approved ABO lecturer, Clifton Brann! I know you are all excited to hear the line-up!!!

I will be sending out a zoom meeting access to make it easy to sign in. You will need to logon with that link. As you know, typically in CT (and many states) you must have face to face credits to make sure you are at the meetings. To fulfill this requirement, ABO is requiring us to verify via polls randomly throughout the courses. Minimally 4 per hour to make sure you can't log in and leave to sit in your hot tub. lol. Although I guess you can be in your hot tub as long as your phone is waterproof.

I know this will be a long day but after polling everyone, most people wanted to get it over with in one day or were indifferent. If there are enough people who want to do only the first 5 and want me to do the 2 NCLE credits again on the following Sunday morning, I would consider doing both days.

After I verify that you have been "attending" the meetings/classes, I will then order the credits and a receipt (so you can get reimbursed if needed) and will mail them out asap to you in a couple of weeks.

I have attached a flyer in a couple of different formats so you can print them and send them back to me.

A lot of people asked me to get into the 21st century and set up a Venmo account to make things easier. I did so. My account is -Johnson-369

I think I can take a check if you take a picture of it (front and back) and email it to me so I can print it and then use my mobile app to cash it. So much technology!!!

Since we are new to all this, I ask for a little patience. We will get through this together!!! Lol.

Greetings one and all. I hope you are all staying healthy and safe. I am putting together a Covid-Friendly lecture in the spring. It will likely be in March. I hope this will all be under control by then. This will be a good time for those who were previously coming to the fall meetings to switch to the spring if you wanted. Let me know so I can plan the venue. Happy Holidays!!!
