Capstone Academics will be hosting FREE final exam review sessions on Saturday, June 13th for LOLHS students in L1 Geometry, L1 Algebra II, and L1 Precalculus.

Join us in person at our Old Lyme office or virtually via Zoom. See below for the schedule and the Zoom link.

L1 Geometry - 11 am - 1 pm
L1 Algebra II - 1 pm - 3 pm
L1 Precalculus - 3 pm - 5 pm

Summer SAT & PSAT Seminar — Now Enrolling

SAT scores arrived today. Whether your child hit their goal or came up short, there's still time and a clear path forward to improving their score.

This summer, Capstone Academics is running a seven-session SAT/PSAT prep course out of our Old Lyme office.

Sunday mornings, 10am to 1pm, July 5 through August 16. Every session is also available live via Zoom.

Here's what makes it different: we take the SAT ourselves seven times a year, so what we teach reflects exactly what's on today's test, not last year's. Midway through the course, students take a full proctored practice test under real testing conditions at our office. We personally review every result and build each student a diagnostic spreadsheet identifying their exact weak areas, ranked by how often each concept appears on the real exam, with direct links to targeted practice material. Our course is built around advanced practice with the problem types that appear most frequently on the SAT, informed by our own firsthand experience sitting for the test.

Last year, this approach moved Old Lyme's junior class from 13th to 6th in the state and produced the strongest results North Branford and Westbrook had seen in years.

Course details: Sundays, July 5 – August 16 | 10am–1pm | 10 Vista Drive, Suite 201, Old Lyme (Zoom option available) $645 | $100 deposit holds your seat | Balance due first day of class

We are thrilled to welcome four outstanding educators to our staff - Jennifer Burke, Alexandra Von Raab, Maureen Lefevre, and Christopher Allegretti!

Jennifer Burke - College Counseling and ELA

Currently teaching at Lyme-Old Lyme High School, Jennifer holds degrees from Wesleyan University and brings over three decades of experience teaching English and guiding students through the college application process. She developed and teaches a specialized course for high school seniors navigating college applications, with expertise in college essay coaching and application strategy.

Alexandra von Raab - Elementary and Middle School Education

Alexandra is a Connecticut-certified teacher with over twenty-five years of experience and a Master's degree in Elementary Education from Fordham University. Currently the literacy tutor at Lyme-Old Lyme Middle School, she specializes in reading comprehension, writing, math, and executive functioning for students ages 9-15, building confidence in even the most reluctant learners.

Maureen Lefevre - French

Maureen is a CT state-certified teacher with over 25 years of experience teaching French from elementary through AP level. A Georgetown graduate who lived and worked in France for nearly 15 years, she currently teaches at Lyme-Old Lyme High School and brings authentic cultural insight to her instruction.

Chris Allegretti - Advanced Mathematics (Algebra through Calculus II)

Chris holds a Master's degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from UConn and has spent fifteen years teaching at Valley Regional High School, where he teaches AP Calculus, Precalculus, Algebra 2, and IB Mathematics. With over twenty years of tutoring experience and expertise in SAT/ACT prep, he helps students build both confidence and measurable progress.
