🚀✨ January Was Out of This World at JPDS! ✨🚀

Our friends had an amazing time exploring Space Month! Throughout January, we blasted off into hands-on learning filled with creativity, discovery, and fun. The children learned about planets, stars, astronauts, and our solar system through interactive morning circles, sensory play, movement activities, and multi-step crafts that helped strengthen fine motor skills, problem-solving, and teamwork.

From planet tracing and space-themed counting activities to sensory bins, art projects, and movement games, our students explored space using all their senses while building important early learning skills. We also encouraged curiosity by asking questions, making observations, and learning fun facts about the universe around us.

🧡🦃 JPDS Thanksgiving Feast 🦃🧡
What a beautiful day of love, laughter, and gratitude our Thanksgiving Feast had! Our hearts were overflowing as we celebrated Thanksgiving together with our sweet students, families, and staff. There is nothing more special than seeing our school family gathered around tables filled with joy, smiles, and thankful hearts.

We are so incredibly grateful for every family that donated food, volunteered their time, and helped make this day so meaningful for our children. Your love and support truly make JPDS feel like home.

Rain or shine, the fun didn’t stop! ☔🍬

A huge THANK YOU to all of our amazing volunteers who showed up, stayed through the weather, and helped make the day so special. Your creativity, flexibility, and community spirit truly pulled it all together!

And thank you to every family who came out and joined in on the fun; the laughter, costumes, games, and treats made it all worth it! 💛

September Recap: Community Helpers Month 👩‍🚒👮‍♂️🧑‍🔧
September was full of excitement as we dove into our Community Helpers theme! Throughout the month, our little learners explored the important roles of Mechanics, Firefighters, Police Officers, and Bakers. Each week was filled with hands on activities, imaginative play, and real world learning experiences that brought these jobs to life! ✨
From pretending to fix cars and decorate cupcakes to touring a police car and meeting real firefighters, our friends were fully engaged in representational learning that helped build understanding, curiosity, and respect for the people who help our community every day. 💙

🚓 Special Visitor Alert!
Last week, we had a very special visit from Officer Stacy! 👮‍♀️ She came to talk to us all about the important work police officers do to keep our neighborhoods and communities safe.
The littles were so excited to learn about her uniform and the different tools she uses while on the job. We even got to see inside the police car and hear about how officers help people every single day!
It was such a wonderful representational learning experience; tying real world heroes to what we’ve been learning in class. Thank you, Officer Stacy, for spending your morning with us and being a real-life role model! 💙 Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office
