It is, or it is almost Back-to-School time! That means that Open House or Back-to-School night (or whatever your school calls it) is also just around the corner. That means, that on top of creating a syllabus, getting to know your students and attending the 500 hours of PD and inservice your administrators have planned for you, you also need to knock your parents' socks off with a spiffy powerpoint and a take-away. Good luck! to all of the students who started school this week. When I was little, my parents gave me a little "Back to School" gift each year. What would you ask for if you could have a back to school gift? Me? I'd ask for a sniffing detective dog like the ones they have in the airport, except instead of sniffing for drugs, he'd sniff for kids who didn't do the reading last night. I'd call him...Sir Bust a Lot.
