Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Welcome to the Neighborhood Dinner at Nest, and a huge thank you to Nest for hosting us! The food was absolutely delicious, and we even had some pretty cute wait staff and helpers who just happened to be Kinderwood alumni!

It was such a beautiful way to feel welcomed into the neighborhood as we settle into this very special new home for our Kinderwood kiddos. We’re so grateful to be part of such a wonderful community!

Tonight is the night! Nest is welcoming us to the neighborhood with a benefit! Come to Nest to benefit Kinderwood!

Our 4s are in their second year at Kinderwood, which means they’re officially working toward graduating our program this year!

Being a 4 means a little more independence, a little more responsibility, and being someone our 3s can look up to. Each day, they work toward completing their “Daily Charts” which include completing a Math game, an English game, and a puzzle.

They’re also learning independence like dressing themselves, feeding and cutting their own snack, and taking care of their own things.

It’s pretty special watching everything they learned as 3s turn into confidence as 4s. 🤍

Don’t forget about our benefit dinner tomorrow night at Nest!

Little hands are learning BIG skills! ✏️

Using chalk is such a simple and fun way to practice the skills needed for handwriting. Drawing and writing with chalk helps strengthen little hand and finger muscles, encourages a proper pencil grip, and builds the fine motor control needed for writing.

In Kinderwood 4s, our students start each morning by signing themselves in when they arrive at school giving them a little handwriting practice every single day.

And the progress is amazing to see! Just look at how much Ali’s handwriting has improved since her very first day in Kinderwood 3s. 💛

Practice, patience, and stronger little hands!

Remember when after school meant going outside? Building forts. Exploring the woods. Making things. Getting dirty. Figuring out what to do when no adult had planned every minute for you.

That’s what we want Forest Extension to give our local kids - while also giving working families something incredibly practical: quality, educational care after the school day ends.

Transportation from TOW to Kinderwood is provided by bus at 2:45, so parents don’t need to arrange pickup at school. Children spend the afternoon learning, exploring, creating and playing, with pickup at Kinderwood at 4:45.

We’re ready to begin October 1. We just need a few more kids to make it happen.

Monday–Friday | 2:45–4:45
Kindergarten–3rd Grade
$800/semester | $30 registration fee
Transportation from TOW included

If this would make your family’s afternoons a little easier, and give your child the kind of afternoons you remember, we’d love to have them.
