WSMS teachers want to say a big THANK YOU to our 8th grade Foods students for spreading a little extra kindness during parent-teacher conferences! They made delicious snack mix and chocolate-covered pretzels this week for our teachers to enjoy throughout conference time.

We appreciate the thoughtfulness, time, and effort that went into making our teachers feel appreciated during these busy evenings.

In Engineering Explorations, 8th graders learned about the difference between a trebuchet and a catapult and then built their own mini trebuchet. They explored how different parts of the trebuchet affected the distance and height of each launch and then had a competition where students used their trebuchet to hit targets at different heights. They also launched for distance. Students used the Engineering Design Process to research, design, and build their trebuchets.

Our participation in the Spring Hill Fall Festival Parade this Saturday will depend on the weather forecast.

A decision about whether or not our band students will march will be made by 8:00 AM Saturday morning. Please be sure to check your Skyward account for an email regarding the decision.

If you do not receive an email by 8:00 AM, please plan to have your musician at WSMS before 9:00 AM.
