Hello friends! I know it has been a long time since I have posted anything to my blog. My wife and I had a beautiful baby girl last year, and I started teaching in a new district to be closer to home and my growing family. Needless to say, I have been quite busy!

My new school district currently has a matching grant opportunity available, and I would love to provide a number of powerful resources for my amazing students. If you have found any of my IWB Music resources helpful, please check out the four links below and consider donating to one or more of them. Anything you donate will be matched by the Olathe Public Schools Foundation, just be sure to type OPSF20Years where it says "Match Code." If you can't help out but you know others who might be interested or able to help, please feel free to share this with them! Thank you!

You may have never heard of Bartolomeo Cristofori, but you definitely know his invention. Cristofori was an Italian musical instrument maker credited with inventing the pianoforte, or: the piano. One of his biggest innovations was creating a hammer mechanism that struck the strings on a keyboard to…

It is official! I have created my first "flipped" lesson using TED-Ed! Thanks to Quaver's Marvelous World of Music for the ridiculously catchy song, and to Katie at Midnight Music Technology Training for the inspiration from her recent post.

Quaver has written a very catchy tune for Guido d'Arezzo (and his friend) to help you remember the letter names of the lines and spaces on the treble clef staff. Watch the video as many times as you need to answer all of the questions. Learning Target: "I can name the lines and spaces of the treble…

Check out this fun game called "Whole." Push two matching notes together to create a longer note value! http://lasconic.github.io/whole/ If that is too easy for you, try the harder version called "Breve ." http://lasconic.github.io/breve/

When two tiles with the same note value touch, they merge into one! Forked by Nicolas Froment from MuseScore Whole is a simplified version of
