Happy Labor Day from Center of Grace! 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to celebrate the hard work, dedication, and contributions of workers in our community—and to recognize the many people who show up every day to make our community stronger.

Center of Grace will be CLOSED Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

We’ll be back Tuesday, September 8, ready to welcome our community with the hospitality, dignity, and care that make Center of Grace a place hope.
To our staff, volunteers, partners, and every neighbor working hard to build a better future: thank you. Your work matters.

Tomorrow, September 4, is a day dedicated to raising awareness about food insecurity and reminding us that no one should have to go to bed hungry. Tomorrow is National Food Pantry Day.

At Center of Grace, our Food Pantry has been open just since June 2025, providing groceries and a welcoming place for our community to access food with dignity. Last night we welcomed over 50 families to the pantry!

Every week, we see families, seniors, parents, and individuals who are doing everything they can to make ends meet—and sometimes, there simply isn’t enough left in the grocery budget.

That’s where COMMUNITY comes in.

YOU can help stock our shelves!

If you’d like to celebrate National Food Pantry Day with us, we have two easy ways to make an immediate difference:

🛒 DROP OFF FOOD TOMORROW — SEPTEMBER 4 or anytime
8:30 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Bring Canned fruit:
Peaches
Pears
Pineapple
Mandarins

Misc:
Oatmeal
Breakfast cereal
Bagged rice
Dried beans (all types)
Canned corn
Every can, box, jar, and bag helps us keep our pantry stocked for our neighbors.

Today, little feet walked through our doors, backpacks were carried in, friendships began, and a whole new year of learning and growing started at Center of Grace.

We are especially excited because this year brings something NEW!
Introducing our NEW Evening Childhood Academy!

Our Evening Childhood Academy will provide a safe, nurturing place for children ages 2½–10 while their parents attend classes, pursue job training, or take important steps toward self-sufficiency.

Because when we support a child, we support the whole family.

But we need YOUR help to make this new program possible.

Our classrooms need supplies, activities, books, learning materials, and the everyday things that help children feel welcomed, engaged, and ready to learn.

It’s officially been one full week of school! 🎒📚

As our students settle into the new school year, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the impact our community helped make possible through this year’s Back-to-School event.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, partners, and volunteers, students were able to walk into their classrooms feeling prepared, confident, and ready to learn.

Every backpack, pair of shoes, school supply, haircut, and health service helped make the start of the school year a little easier for a child and their family.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who gave, volunteered, partnered, and showed up for our kids. Together, you helped make sure students could start the year with the tools, support, and confidence they deserve. 💛

We’re Looking for Our Next Center of Grace Volunteers! 💙

At Center of Grace, we believe that community is built through relationships — and our volunteers are a huge part of making that happen!

There are so many ways to get involved, whether you have an hour a week, a few hours a month, or simply want to help when your schedule allows. Volunteers can help with things like:
