As we wrap up CTE Month, we’re proud to celebrate the incredible opportunities available to students across our district through Olathe Career Pathways! 🎉

From hands-on technical training and industry certifications to real-world internships and college credit opportunities, our pathways empower students to explore their passions and build skills that lead directly to high-demand careers. Whether students are interested in healthcare, engineering, business, the arts, technology, or skilled trades, there is a pathway designed to help them succeed.

Career and Technical Education opens doors, builds confidence, and connects classroom learning to real-world success. We are grateful for our dedicated teachers, industry partners, and counselors who make these opportunities possible—and most of all, for the hardworking students who bring these programs to life every day.

Today we proudly celebrated the ribbon cutting of the new Olathe Public Schools Innovation Campus (OPSIC) — and we are beyond thrilled to officially open our doors! ✂️🎉

This incredible space now houses six of our district’s Two-Year Academies, providing students with powerful, industry-guided learning experiences that prepare them for high-demand, high-skill careers.

We were honored to hear remarks from Superintendent Brent Yeager, Kansas Representative Sharice Davids, Board of Education President Stacey Yurkovich, Electronics & Avionics Academy student Lamia Mohammed Seghir, and our valued partners from DLR Group and McCownGordon, whose vision and craftsmanship brought this project to life.

OPSIC represents opportunity, innovation, and the bright future of our students. We can’t wait to see what they accomplish here!

Huge shoutout to David at the OATC Two-Year Auto Technology Academy for absolutely crushing his first foreman experience!
In the Olathe Career Pathways, we don’t just build engines—we build leaders. David recently earned the highest peer feedback score Dr. Bergen has ever seen for a first-time foreman. Talk about setting the bar high! 📈

Join us for this year's Taste of the Town, supporting mental health and wellness in our Olathe Public Schools.

Right now, our students need us more than ever as mental health issues continue to rise.

This night features tastings from our very own Culinary Arts students, along with many local establishments, to raise support and awareness for the mental health of every student and staff member, so they have access to resources when and where they need them.

🔪Classroom Knife Skills Workshop
Looking to strengthen knife skills and bring real-world culinary techniques into the classroom? This hands-on workshop is designed for culinary and food science educators looking to build confidence, consistency, and classroom-ready instruction.

Participants will learn knife identification and proper use, practical essential knife cuts, and gain hands-on experience with chicken fabrication. Attendees will also receive electronic forms and instruction videos to share with students.

This morning, our Olathe Career Pathways team participated in professional development focused on expanding opportunities for all students in CTE! We were inspired by keynote speaker Dr. Lisa Williams from National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity and engaged in workshops on addressing nontraditional careers in CTE.
