Six skills for parents as teacher
And we are now all home school parents

With the recent closing of most schools for the duration of the school year,
here are six enabling skills for parents.

1. Learning is a team sport. Parents are both a coach and a player.
2. Coaches earn the respect of team members by rewarding progress and not demanding perfection.
3. Don’t stop just memorization. Encourage inquiry and problem-solving.
4. Set up a schedule for the time that would have been spent in classes.
5. Let team members explain what they have learned. Ask why they know what they know.
6. Make screen time productive. Find better screens and exchange time spend on tasks.
