One of my priorities when teaching is creating a safe, welcoming space for my students to sing and create in. I am so lucky to have the best students to spend my days with, and aim to be the teacher I would have wanted in each lesson and class that I teach.

This week has been a pretty exciting one- my workbooks for young singers are now both published and available on Amazon! (Teacher's Guides should be available for both levels within the week). I never thought I would do something like this, and I am pretty proud of myself (and my awesome illustrator, Eric Schable) for working late nights and weekends to get to this point. I have something REALLY exciting to share! 🎉 I started teaching voice classes in my studio almost 10 years ago. I wanted to find a way to be able to work with younger students in a fun, non-intimidating way before we move to deeper individual technique work as they get older. My classes are SUCH a fun part of my week, but I struggled to plan them in a way that I felt gave the students everything they needed. So, I created a curriculum that teaches sight-singing, ear-training, music theory, and age-appropriate voice technique, all tied together with a fun character named Maestro and his friends Dr. P and Lady F (those of you who went to Simpson with me will probably notice a few characters that seem familiar...) traveling through music history meeting composers and learning fun facts. Eric Schable created all original illustrations and comics, and we incorporated fun facts, music puns, and jokes each week! I am SO EXCITED to say we have gotten it officially filed for copyright and it will be releasing Level 1 on Amazon on July 1st!, and Level 2 at the beginning of August, just in time for a full school-year's worth of curriculum!
