Finding Their Place! Mrs. Snow's 6th graders turned spatial concepts into active learning this week! After kicking things off with a fast-paced game comparing absolute vs. relative location, students put their skills to the test. Each student chose a secret spot in the school and crafted one absolute clue and two relative clues. When the music started, they moved; when it stopped, they paired up to decode each other’s location clues! Through multiple energetic rounds, students mastered how to navigate and describe the world around them. 🗺️✨

Superintendent LuVona Copeland and Assistant Superintendent Joanna Lobaugh joined students at Dunbar for "Lunch with Leaders".

The lunch gave students an opportunity to visit with district leaders, ask questions and share what is happening in their school. It also gave Mrs. Copeland and Mrs. Lobaugh the chance to hear directly from the students they serve.

Taking time to sit down, listen and get to know our students helps build trust and strengthen relationships throughout our district. We look forward to continuing these conversations with students across Okmulgee Public Schools.

We’ve got a great team of teachers and staff at Dunbar this year! When so many of the staff showed up to school today wearing red without officially planning to, you know we are all on the same page. Great minds think alike and we’ve got a great team!

We’re giving you a little sneak peek at some exciting work happening behind the scenes this summer!

Many of our District employees and staff have been working hard to give Dunbar Intermediate a much-needed refresh, including a deep clean throughout the building and fresh paint in the cafeteria and hallway walls.

These updates are about more than just a fresh look, they are about school pride. Every clean hallway, every freshly painted wall, and every detail helps create a welcoming space where our students, staff, and families can feel proud to be Bulldogs.

We are so thankful for the hard work, and care going into making Dunbar shine. We can’t wait for everyone to see the progress!
