🔥 FROM SPARKS TO SMOKE 🔥

A few of our Welding students have been putting their skills to work fabricating a custom-built smoker, taking raw steel and turning it into something they can be proud of.

From cutting and fitting to welding and grinding, this project brings together the precision, problem-solving, and hands-on experience that go into real-world metal fabrication.

There's still work to be done, but it's already looking pretty impressive!

Now, the real question is… who's bringing the brisket? 👀🔥

From the beautiful woodwork and custom finishes to the spacious kitchen, tiled showers, and covered outdoor living space, every detail reflects the craftsmanship and dedication that went into bringing this home to life.

More importantly, this project represents what CareerTech education is all about—giving students the opportunity to take what they've learned in the classroom and apply it to a real-world construction project.

The skills developed, challenges overcome, and experience gained along the way will stay with these students long after they leave GCTC.

🛠 What a difference a few days can make! 🛠

Our Construction Trades students are making some serious progress on this year's Project Home! With the exterior walls standing, students have shifted their focus inside, knocking out a major portion of the interior framing.

There's still plenty of work ahead, but one thing is certain—this house is coming together, and our students are the ones building it!

Our Cosmetology Client Days are off to a great start, and our students have been busy putting their training to work!

From haircuts and clipper cuts to nail services, Brazilian Blowouts, and more, students are gaining valuable hands-on experience while providing services to real clients.

Client Days are an important part of their education, giving students the opportunity to strengthen their techniques, build confidence, and develop the customer service skills they'll carry into their future careers.

We want to give a special thank you to Karla and Green Country Technology Center for their continued partnership with Wilson Schools and for spending time with our students as they work through their Individual Career Academic Plans (ICAP).

ICAP helps students explore their interests, set goals, plan for life after high school, and make sure they are taking the right steps toward college, CareerTech, or the workforce. We are thankful to have Karla working alongside our students and staff to help them navigate that process and make informed decisions about their futures.
